Raise the Bar: Sky or Clouds

One of my favorite set ups: nothing but sky behind a beautiful couple.
Let's see your images!

You guys. My new website is almost up. This will be the last link party on this blog. Next week we'll be posting at www.libbyjonesphotography.com. Yay!

Next up: Happiness or Joy.

Raise the Bar: White

This family has a complex story full of twists and turns, heart break, fighters, and beauty. They inspire me.  I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to capture a few images along their journey.

No words.  Just love for these people.
Up next: Sky or Clouds.

There are some exciting things going on around here.  I'm feverishly working on a new website!  Ahhhh!  Yay!  I'm doing a bit of rebranding, some reorganizing, and generally just feeling the love. I can't wait to unveil it.  Keep your eyes peeled!

Raise the Bar: Hat or Scarf

Well, hello there.  It's been a busy week for this photographer--I literally have thousands of images waiting for me to sort through, edit, and deliver.  So it was a nice departure this morning to take a second and shoot something for myself! Say hello to my littlest man sporting a hat from his hipster uncle.  He wears it well, in my completely biased opinion.  :)
Let's see 'em!

Raise the Bar: Friend

This week, I got to take a long anticipated vacation with two of my loves.  It was four days of perfection.  This little guy was my buddy the entire trip--not one melt down, not one sassy word, and eyes full of pure joy.  We're friends.
I'm taking off for Utah this afternoon for a week with my family and a few shoots scattered through out the week.  I can't wait.  Also, I can't wait to see what friends you all have.

Thanks for making my week even better with your beautiful photos!

Raise the Bar: Street Scene

My little sister came in town for one full week.  We laughed endlessly, ate too much good food, played with my boys, shopped, laughed some more, and took pictures... of course.  While this seems like an unconventional "street scene," this is the street where I live.  She makes the most beautiful model.

Can't wait to see your street scenes!

Up Next: Friend.  Happy photographing!

Raise the Bar: Simplicity

I have so much respect for people who shoot still life well.  I have to work at it, but I'm always happy I did.  Something about citrus just makes me happy.
I'm loving this project!  It's stretching me, and breaking me out of my comfort zone.  I needed this!  I hope you're finding your own progression too.  Can't wait to see the simple life.  :)

Up next: Street Scene. Good luck!

Raise the Bar: Red Lips

I love this week's challenge.   Mostly because I just love this girl and her craziness.  She a fantastic photographer,  she has incredible style (I mean, look at her!), and she is an amazing friend.

I am loving everyone's submissions.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing up each week.  You guys are the best.
Can't wait to see your Red Lips!

Raise the Bar: Laughter

Meet my grandfather.
He is a farmer.
He is 93.
He is amazing.
I have never known a harder working, more humble, more spiritually centered person.  He is genuinely good.  From the bottom of my heart, I adore him.  This shot was snapped last summer during a game of freeze tag being played by his great grandchildren.  It actually makes my heart lighter and happier.
There were some amazing submissions last week!  Thanks for sharing your beautiful work!!

Up next week: red lips.

Raise the Bar - Rule of Thirds

Week 2!  I loved the submissions from last week.  You are some seriously beautiful people.
This week's theme falls right in line with a little set of photos that have been screaming for me to work on them.  I mean, what cuter threesome could there possibly be to demonstrate the rule of thirds?  These three little guys are the cutest little friends.  ...I may be slightly biased.
And, just because I have to, here's my favorite outtake:
Don't they make you just want to go on a shopping spree at Gap?
Big shout out to my good friend, Lauren Bowyer, who seized the opportunity in the middle of our play date, and got these three together for some pictures.  I simply, brought out the camera and captured the moment.

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Make It Click - Pittsburgh

I had the incredible opportunity to fly out to Pittsburgh and teach a workshop to some amazing former clients, and some awesome new friends.  We spent several hours together learning, shooting, learning, eating, shooting, learning, eating, shooting, and learning some more.  The day was so much fun--I would do it again in a heart beat.  While I don't have a ton of pictures of the whole process (I was, after all, doing the teaching, feeding, shooting, teaching, and more teaching), here's a glimpse of the adventure:

And, of course, the wonderful participants:

Thank you, thank you to all that attended! I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to spend time with you!

Raise the Bar.

I'm so excited about this project.  I've done two 365 projects.  They were amazing.  I would recommend it to anyone.  However, this year I thought I'd try something different--52 weeks; 52 photos.  I'm hoping it will help me to dream bigger, push myself further, and reach outside my comfort zone.
So, join me!
I'll be hosting a link party each Friday where you can share your photos, and I'll share some of my favorites at the beginning of the following week.  The themes are laid out below, along with the date to link to my blog.
Here's to incredible 2013.
